The air-purifying effect is created by UV lamps installed in the air stream, where they activate a process that breaks down organic substances through photo-light oxidation. The UV light produces ozone, which chops off the protein chains, thereby allowing fats in the air to be oxidized. Harmless by-products such as carbon dioxide and water remain, as well as a small amount of polymerized fat, which leaves the channel in dust form. This makes the technology environmentally friendly, efficient and risk-free.

UV light and ozone are well-known technologies that have long been used to improve air quality in environments with high cleanliness and safety requirements. They are used, for example, in food industries, fishing industries, wastewater treatment plants and similar areas where unpleasant odors need to be removed.

Key factors for optimal performance

  • For oxidation to be complete, a reaction time of at least 2 seconds is required after the air has passed the UV purifier. If the ducts are short, an extension may be needed to ensure sufficient volume and time for the process.
